Quote from JFK

from the FFRF website:

“I believe in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute--where no Catholic prelate would tell the President (should he be Catholic) how to act, and no Protestant minister would tell his parishioners for whom to vote--where no church or church school is granted any public funds or political preference--and where no man is denied public office merely because his religion differs from the President who might appoint him or the people who might elect him."

Sandy Beach

The three of us went to Sandy Beach again for my weekend. Sandra did not have Monday off so I had the day free to myself. I had her drop me off at the ARCO to buy the three papers and I cooked breakfast and read the Bee.
After the mandatory nap, I watched the first two episodes of Deadwood. This is a series on HBO that I had some interest in. The disc was worth renting and I'll rerent episodes 3 and 4 the next time we get out.
I took a couple of pictures at Sandy Beach but I'm locked out of adding the card reader at work. This is curious, as I've added pics in the past, even with the new camera. Something here has changed and I can't do it anymore. So, the pics will have to wait.
We may try Sugar Barge next, as the weather is warming up and they have a pool, as well as cable tv. All for the same price as Sandy Beach. I'm not happy that Sandy Beach charges me $7 extra for having Sandra drive the car to the campground. They charge the day use fee which I think is not fair. Oh, well.

3 in a row

After I last blogged about the A's, they've won three series in a row and are two games over .500 and one win in front of the Giants. This is a lead they won't easily give up and I fully expect to go away in November on Sandra's dime.
