In Trouble
According to Newspaper Death Watch, Macy's had cut its newspaper ad spending by half since 2005. They used to have a nice full color tab in each Sunday edition and jackets during the week. And display advertising within the news sections. They're still the second largest newspaper advertisor, after Verizon. Actually, for the Mercury and the ANG papers, I'd bet that Fry's is the largest display buyer. They're always running full page color ads and they have a section each Friday. I still think its a race to see if I retire out of here in 4.5 years or if I go to Safeway. (who isn't hiring right now)
