I Just Don't Get It

I'm sure you all saw how President Clinton went to North Korea and won the freedom of the two American gals who were arrested, tried and convicted of crimes against the North Koreans. Good for Clinton and what a relief for the families of the women involved.
But, and I'll point out that I didn't see this next point made anywhere, what the hell were these two idiots doing crossing a river from China into North Korea in the first place? Why are you even close enough to North Korea to see the border, much less cross into a land where they hate Americans? And, did any of you think they were going to be found innocent or let off the hook? Why hell no! What a bunch of idiots.

And, there's three Americans held by the Iranians for crossing over the border illegally. Again, you know the Iranian government doesn't like Americans so why the hell are you even tempting fate?
I'll note here that both sets of dumb asses are "journalists". OK, maybe in journalism school they should teach their students how to use a GPS. Or, make sure they know that just because they're journalists, that doesn't mean they can enter countries where Americans will be arrested, tried, convicted and sent to prison. They're not exempt.
OK, rant over for now.

I agree they should've let them do couple of years of hard labor 1st. and charge them for the costs of flying back.

My thoughts exactly.

I think that Americans in general and maybe more so "journalists" think that the whole wide world revolves around them and that they surely can't get into any trouble. And I will venture to say that most Americans have no idea what real trouble is until they go messin' in countries where they shouldn't be.
These girls were very very lucky.

Time will tell with the people in Iran.

@M.V. I also think that people that get stuck on mountain tops in the back country or off season should also have to pay for the cost to save their asses.
